Lifespan: a concrete surface will outlast an asphalt surface. Most concrete pavements have lifespans of between 30 and 50 years while the average asphalt pavement, by contrast, usually lasts between 12 and 20 years.
Cost: While asphalt in short term is more affordable, the added longevity of a well-installed concrete pavement comes at a greater cost. Environmental Impact: Concrete is one of the most recycled construction materials on the planet. Excess materials are always dumped and recycled properly for later use.
Maintenance: Concrete provides less upkeep and maintenance than asphalt as well as it is more susceptible to unsightly staining that can cause damage to asphalt.
